After a long time racing in iRacing, we started trying new things. And one of the facets that most caught my attention in Motorsport were the rallies. Therefore, I decided to start racing in Dirt Rally 2.0.
Dirt Rally 2.0 is a Rally simulator, in which you can race the most emblematic stages of the WRC. Furthermore, you can do it with different vehicles, from the first cars that raced in the WRC, through legendary cars like the Subaru Impreza, and ending with modern cars like the DS3.
Despite already being a certain age, this simulator has aged masterfully, being practically the only one with full compatibility of peripherals (gear shifters, handbrakes, buttons...).
Little by little the #TeamMaquinarias community became curious, so Miguel Custom Art and I decided to create a championship: “Mudfight Championship”.
In this championship, a complete Rally was run each week (6 sections), having 5 days to complete them, from Monday to Saturday, with total freedom of time, so it did not matter what time zone the player lived.
Once Saturday arrived, the classification was determined based on the times, thus giving a point in the general classification.
At first we doubted its acceptance in the community, since it was something that had never been done at a high level in national simracing.
However, thanks to both the promotion with the help of Miguel Custom Art, and the participation of Simufy offering a MOZA HBP handbrake, we managed to attract quite a few participants willing to give their all in this challenging championship.
