New weekend of racing with RX Pro Racing in the RFEDA Saxo 8v Cup at the Jarama circuit.
The weekend started pretty well. We did a test, taking advantage of the fact that we passed verification first thing in the morning, to observe the weight of the car completely unloaded and to be able to play with the car's ballasts for the minimum weight.
Also, taking advantage of the 4 hours of free practice, we were doing long runs with a full tank so that the driver could ride and gain information about the track and gain confidence in the car so that, when he stopped to refuel, we could study the data collected in order to to improve. From this first run, from which we took information and analyzed the data together with the pilot, to the second run (race simulation testing fuel calculations) the pilot's improvement was notable -1.3s/lap), which was accentuated by the good acquisition of the same as discussed above.
At the end of the 4 hours of free practice, the driver's best time was 2:07:3, which we were sure we could improve since we reviewed the data again and found errors in the laps.
These errors were solved for the first classification, where after having analyzed all the data from the previous day with the pilot, he managed to score a 2:06:1.
This time did not result in a great 11th position for Race 2, which was highly contested in a group of 5 cars, where our driver suffered attacks from which he knew how to defend himself very well, and with two laps to go he became the leader of said race. group (P10).
Finally, we lost the position gained on the last lap with a spectacular overtake by our rival, but both the result and the form achieved gave us a lot of motivation for Qualifying 4 and Race 4.
Looking ahead to Classification 4, we tried to look for cars that we knew were faster, in order to get slipstream and references and thus be able to lower that 2:06:1 from the first classification.
This was not possible, but our driver clocked a 2:06:8, which left us within the Top 30. In Race 4 we went very well, avoiding the incidents of the first laps. But on lap 3, the driver in front made a mistake, which caused him to spin while braking in turn 1.
Our driver got scared and braked too much, blocking and spinning with his rival.
Finally we finished in P28, although very happy with the work done despite not having been rewarded in this last race.
We gained 5 places in the general classification, from P27 to P22, leaving us 8 points behind P20, which will be our goal for the next race at MotorLand Aragón.
Congratulations to my teammates, who despite having all kinds of setbacks, managed to get the car out on the track and get good points for their drivers.
